Dave started in the life of pumping iron as a high school freshman just trying to gain some size and strength for football and as a shot put and discus thrower for track. The passion started to quickly grow as he started to break several strength records at the school. He continued to train for another six years before the bodybuilding competition bug finally hit. After a 10 year stint of competing, he chose to focus more contest promoting which the
Great Lakes Supernatural was born in 1993 and continues as one of the longest standing natural shows in the midwest. In 2003, Dave decided to add a second show to his “Yeates Productions” and the
Great Northern Natural and Mr/Ms Natural Illinois came to life. Both of these shows continue to take on some of the best physiques drug-free bodybuilding have to offer.
Dave’s other pursuits in life are a personal trainer studio owner along with his wife Jenny. They employ 4 other trainers and 6 group fitness instructors.
Dave is vice-president of the NANBF, certified personal trainer, high school athletic coach, certified bodybuilding judge, contest prep trainer, and father of one beautiful girl, Kedzie.
